Scion Nonprofit is leading an exciting search for a Program Manager on behalf of an impactful academic nonprofit in Chicago, IL! This is a direct-hire opportunity offering a full-time work schedule. If you are looking for a meaningful opportunity to work with children and families then this is the opportunity for you!

Responsibilities of this position include:
  • Provide direct interaction and service to students, families, and teachers on a regular basis
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of program including school year and summer programming
  • Plan and collaborate with the program team to prepare for summer and school year programming which may include, but is not limited to: teacher recruitment and hiring, applications review, parent presentations, scheduling, ordering supplies and materials, etc.
  • Serve as a leader and spokesperson for the campus and lead professional development
  • Become the primary point of contact for campus faculty, parents and students
  • Build high-quality relationships with school and community partners during recruitment season
  • Support the program team in coordinating activities
  • Manage site budget, purchase materials needed for program, track all expenses, create monthly expense reports and oversee timesheet compliance
  • Manage student and parent data and information as related to your campus
  • Manage schedules of academic program and all faculty members
  • Supervise teachers, teacher assistants, interns, and volunteers (approximately 30-45 staff members during busiest period)
  • Lead and facilitate regularly scheduled faculty meetings
  • Track academic progress of all students
  • Handle all communications with students and their families
  • Oversee and support academic and social emotional growth of students
  • Assist with recruiting students through school and community presentations and by developing relationships with key contacts in youth organizations and school, execute recruitment events alongside the program team and recruitment manager
  • Participate in the selection and admissions of students
  • Work collaboratively with staff at the other sites and with the Chief Programs Officer to ensure the development and execution of quality programming for all students
     
What you need to be successful:
  • Strong commitment to the educational mission and experience working with historically marginalized students throughout Chicago
  • 3+ years of teaching and/or leadership experience in a school or academic nonprofits
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and handle high-pressure situations
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Flexibility and commitment to work Saturdays twice a month from September to May
  • Expressed commitment to DEI and anti-racist work
  • Counseling and/or demonstrated social-emotional student support work is a plus
  • Experience with Content Management and Learning Management Systems are a plus
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus

Compensation:
This opportunity offers a competitive salary of $60,000-$70,000, depending on experience, plus incredible benefits including employer paid health contributions over 75% of monthly enrollment costs, high quality dental and vision plans, 401k with a 6% employer contribution, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, and many ancillary enrollment options. In addition to contractual time off and 14 holidays, the organization provides two additional and flexible weeks of paid vacation for all staff.
