Scion Nonprofit Staffing, a full-service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Grants Management Specialist on behalf of our client, a nonprofit research organization in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their work involves collaborating with leading research institutions, space agencies, and universities around the world. This full-time position is for immediate hire and offers a hybrid model!

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Grants Management Specialist is crucial in the organization’s ability to apply for grant funding and secure research-related financing. The Grants Management Specialist provides support for all stages of the grant process. Reporting to the Director of Grants Administration, the Grants Management Specialist identifies funding opportunities and their requirements, prepares budgets and proposal templates, organizes files and handles reporting requirements, and helps to improve business processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Provide expert advice and administrative support in preparing grant proposals to secure funding for groundbreaking research.
  • Manage the proposal preparation process, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
  • Keep accurate records of grants awarded and submit timely reports to funders.
  • Identify potential funding opportunities that align with their mission, maintain detailed proposal files, and develop templates to improve the grant application process.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of related and relevant experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills to support the grants process, including tracking deadlines, compiling documents, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks, with strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in grant proposals and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide guidance and support in preparing grant proposals and maintaining positive relationships with funding agencies.
  • Knowledge and interest in the scientific goals of the organization enabling the Grants Management Specialist to better support the funding needs of the organization.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, to efficiently create and manage grant proposal materials and related documents.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, ensuring timely and compliant submission of grant proposals and reports.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
In addition to a competitive base salary of $71,000–$95,000 (DOE), this incredible role provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes excellent benefits including health/dental/vision insurance, a flexible spending account for medical and dependent care, vacation, and sick leave.
