Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Surgery Coordinator for our client, a Mesa, Arizona-based clinic focused on cardiovascular care! This is a full-time, onsite, contract to hire opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify and update patient information including insurance, demographics, along with other info
- Ensure that all necessary information is acquired and accurately entered into the system before any surgical procedures or tests are completed
- Keep notes updated and accurate in the system regarding appointments and authorizations
- Coordinate with the billing departments to obtain any missing patient information and answer any questions regarding claims, referrals, and authorizations
- Keep the Billing Lead and Chief Revenue Officer up to date on any changes made by the insurance carriers when obtaining authorizations
- Input requests for procedures and tests at outside clinics and facilities
- Send requests to insurance carriers, physicians, or health plans if the criteria for the tests or procedures are not met
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of previous coordinator experience
- Previous experience with Centricity through Athena required
- Ability to work well in a team setting, as well as independently
- Must have strong communication skills
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy of reports and data
- Ability to multi-task.
- Must be computer literate and have previous experience with MS Office Suite
- BA/BS Degree preferred
