Scion Nonprofit Staffing (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com) has been retained to conduct a search for an Interim Nonprofit Chief Operating Officer for our client, a global refugee relief organization! This is a very exciting role with a collaborative and passionate team on a fully remote basis! Our client is based in Washington, DC.
 
OVERVIEW
The Interim Nonprofit Chief Operating Officer will bring a customer service orientation to support the logistical, human resource, and administrative needs of the organization. This is a full time, interim position reporting to the CEO.
 
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
-Communicating changes in organization personnel policies and procedures and ensure proper compliance is followed.
-Overseeing and directing all operational financial activities and work closely with CEO to prepare annual budgets, analyze financial data, maximize financial efficiencies, and reduce costs.
-Drafting, formatting, and editing communication materials on behalf of the operations department.
-Maintaining confidential employee information and acting with discretion.
-Providing employees with a high level of service to resolve questions, concerns or technology issues.
-Supporting a newly all-remote workforce.
-Facilitating human resource operations processes, from hiring and onboarding to employee engagement surveys to goal setting and tracking to performance management cycles.
-Adjusting to ever changing processes and procedures.
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
-Experience as a manager or director of operations, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
-The ability to work effectively from home.
-Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
-Experience working with Mac computers, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office suite; comfort learning new software systems quickly.
-Acute attention to detail.
-Ability to adapt to change quickly.
-Comfortable working with tight deadlines.
-Ability to be proactive and anticipate needs.
 
COMPENSATION
This position offers competitive pay of $55-65/hr. (based on experience), flexible remote hours, as well as health, dental, vision and other benefits! This position works on an amazing team and makes an incredible impact on people all around the world!
