OVERVIEW

The Federal Grants Administrator will help identify targets of funding opportunities, manage the proposal preparation and post-award activities of the grants, contracts, program projects and federal grants for the campus. This position is responsible for ensuring that sponsored projects are in compliance with all policy, sponsor and government regulations, and guides the department staff scientists (Principal Investigators) through these policies and procedures as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and maintains grants proposals due diligence/compliance records
  • Assists in maintenance of filing system for Grants Administration documentation
  • Oversee the grant submission process, assemble documents review for compliance and completeness
  • Generates reports for internal use by grant teams on upcoming deadlines and other grant-specific requirements
  • Thinks critically and provides practical solutions based on thorough analysis in the face of real-time issues
  • Provides courteous and responsive support, while balancing the requirements to adhere to legal requirements and internal policies
  • Delivers high quality products in a timely and efficient manner
  • Works with sensitive and confidential information

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Federal grants administration experience
  • Knowledge of pre-and-post award research administration processes and fluency of governmental regulations (i.e. Uniform Guidance, FAR, CAS)
  • General online file management experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple team members
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment with an emphasis on customer service
  • Exceptionally critical eye for detail, including project tracking
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Drafting of business-style correspondence and emails
  • Thrives in roles that incorporate both routine and as-needed, emergent tasks

COMPENSATION
