Scion Nonprofit Staffing (http://www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com/) is searching for a talented Associate Director, Strategy & Planning for our client, a new and growing foundation, that is seeking candidates who thrive in a dynamic environment and are flexible as the organization grows and scales. This position is based in Seattle, Washington, and will work remotely while the office is closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. Some post-COVID travel will be required for this role.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Create annual strategy planning systems and procedures that will allow teams to effectively and efficiently coordinate cross-functionally; implement tools/templates to mitigate issues of duplication among those teams.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager to design and execute annual organizational capacity planning activities.
  • Facilitate ongoing cross-team meetings with managers and project/program manager roles.
  • Serve as central liaison with various departments, including programs, operations, and fundraising teams to ensure seamless coordination of work activities, reporting of key achievements, preparation of materials for board meetings, and other tracked metrics.
  • Design, develop, and implement systems and best practices among cross functional teams that are effective and user friendly.
  • Together with point person from each team, manage the design and regular refresh of SharePoint and/or MS Teams platforms.
  • Act as project or event lead on assignments requiring intricate senior-level project management and high-level collaborative oversight; lead initiatives that require exceptional facilitation and/or domain expertise.
  • As part of the leadership team, collaborate with contemporaries regarding several categories that would impact the management of various teams.
  • Provide support in the recruitment, development, and training of key talent.
  • Regularly update organizational charts and ensure their access foundation wide.
What you have to offer:
  • 10+ years’ experience in organizational strategy, organizational development, consulting, and/or general management.
  • Highly organized with consummate knowledge of strategy development and implementation and the design of performance management systems for goals, targets, and monitoring processes.
  • Transformational leader with a demonstrated ability to generate solutions across a wide range of cultures to enable and implement change across the agency.
  • Ability to analyze and address complex problems.
  • Proficiency in project management platforms, such as Slack, Asana, Teams, etc., Microsoft Office Suite, and exceptional report writing skills.
  • Proven track record of collaboration across complex internal and external groups.
  • Combination of thinking broadly and the ability to reliably execute complex tasks to agreed milestones and timelines and cultural realities.
  • Skills in adaptability and maintaining calm under pressure, particularly regarding program strategies and fluid timelines.
  • Preference for conversational proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
