Scion Staffing (scionstaffing.com) has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Quality Engineer for a rapidly growing global manufacturer of premium components for heavy duty vehicles near Seattle, WA. The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Director. The quality engineer will be the point of contact when addressing supply chain issues. This role will be responsible for improving and approving our suppliers. The ideal candidate will have experience as a quality or manufacturing engineer in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will take initiative to proactively anticipate and assess a problem. Must have the ability and knowledge to determine root cause and able to work with the suppliers to create a sustainable resolution.

This position will also lead activities related to maintaining our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications. This can and will include verifying the effectiveness of past corrective actions, reviewing audit reports, and any coordination efforts with the ISO auditor. This role will be responsible for utilizing the organization quality assurance system to assure that ISO compliance is maintained and continuously improved.

This position will also be responsible for the supplier metrics within the Supplier Improvement Team and presenting twice monthly to the team and recommending further action with suppliers.


Requirements:

  • Travel - 20%
  • ISO Coordinator (lead activities related to our ISO certification)
  • Lead quality and supply chain lead for high visibility supply chain interruptions and issues
  • Responsible for maintaining and presenting Supply Chain Improvement Team worst and top performing suppliers each month
  • Responsible for performing our supplier audits on a rotating basis (both top and worst performers)
  • Being the next level escalation when the quality team does not have success in their normal QR/8D process with suppliers
  • Main QA point of contact on supplier transitions. Coordinate’s supplier approval and ISIR/PPAP approvals with new supplier. Works as part of a team with the Purchasing and Commodity team.


Salary:

$62,000-$68,000 DOE
