Scion Nonprofit has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Case Management Specialist on behalf of an impactful nonprofit that partners with clients to make lasting solutions on poverty and injustice. This is a very exciting direct-hire role that is locally remote with a collaborative and passionate team in Portland, Oregon that is ready for immediate hire!
 
This position with our Client will start off remote and eventually requires employees to report to work at a physical location. As a cautionary measure, our Client is asking all employees to be fully vaccinated by the date of hire. Overview:
The Case Management Specialist will be responsible for assisting clients in emergency services, case management, navigation services, and be able to provide client support in financial coaching. Responsibilities:
  • Respond to program inquiries, conduct intakes, and assess eligibility for the program.
  • Conduct needs assessment.
  • Provide case management and coaching, including support for obtaining employment and housing, resume building, finding employment, and Social Security applications.
  • Coordinate emergency assistance for eligible clients by communicating with clients and vendors, collecting, and completing necessary paperwork and vouchers.
  • Provide information and referral services as needed.
  • Provide financial coaching for clients.
  • Meet with clients to provide high-quality and culturally specific assessment, information and referral, and readiness mapping.
  • Maintain electronic records of clients receiving navigation services.
  • Serve as a liaison to agency programs and community partners with the purpose of screening for readiness of financial empowerment services.
  • Assist as necessary with scheduling of services, and contacting community partners, if outside referral is appropriate.
  • Provide supervision of interns and other emergency services staff as necessary.
  • Provide grant writing support as needed to increase access to services for clients and program sustainability.
  • Provide outreach services.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work required, master's degree in social work, preferred.
  • Must be bilingual in both Spanish and English.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of available community resources.
  • Demonstrated competency working with people from diverse cultures. Ability to assess and treat clients in a culturally competent manner.
  • Ability to effectively work with standard office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,  Adobe InDesign, and Salesforce.
  • Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
  • High attention to detail required.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently, and be flexible and adapt to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work remotely with a flexible schedule, to include some evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to support organizational and program-specific mission and goals.
