Scion Nonprofit has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Healthcare Workforce Development Coordinator on behalf of an impactful nonprofit that helps individuals overcome barriers to employment and closes the gap between skills and business hiring needs. This is a very exciting full-time direct-hire role that is hybrid remote in Hartford, CT and is ready for immediate hire!
 
This position with our Client requires employees to report to work at a physical location 3 days a week in Hartford, CT. As a cautionary measure, our Client is asking all employees to be fully vaccinated by the date of hire. Overview:
The Healthcare Workforce Development Coordinator will engage and sustain strategic relationships with employers, industry associations, and training providers to ensure that program performance goals are met or exceeded.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Implement workforce initiatives and lead partnership activities.
  • Introduce new healthcare employers to the workforce development system in North Central CT and create business service plans to support hiring and training priorities.
  • Consult with strategy team to ensure grant applications and program designs are aligned with employer needs.
  • Implement on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, subsidized employment and job placement activities as needed to support the grant funded healthcare initiatives.
  • Develop job leads that match participant qualifications, screen candidates, and make appropriate employer referrals.
  • Serve as regional subject matter expert on workforce issues in the healthcare sector.
  • Deliver workshops to American Job Center customers related to careers in healthcare.
  • Use ETO and other software to track business contacts, services, and activities; provide technical assistance to staff.
  • Respond to grant requirements and compliance regarding timely completion of deliverables.
  • Represent the client at variety of events.
 
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in program coordination.
  • Experience in, or knowledge of healthcare industry related to hiring, training/education, or clinical practice.
  • Experience in, or knowledge of workforce development is preferred but not required
  • Relevant experience in higher education, preferably community colleges and four-year institutions.
  • Excellent public speaking/presentation skills as well as verbal/written communication skills.
  • Experience in training and/or outreach, as well as sales or entrepreneurial exposure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Counseling, Education, or related field is required.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and frequent deadlines.
  • Multicultural experience and capacity to work effectively with diverse populations preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, ETO and other web-based case management and tracking systems.
  • Ability to travel to various locations in the North Central CT region. Must have reliable transportation, current motor vehicle driver’s license, and auto insurance.
 
Compensation & Perks:
This wonderful opportunity offers a competitive salary in the $65,000 to $70,000 range depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes 3 health insurance plans, dental & vision insurance, HSA, disability, life insurance, 401k, generous paid time off, tuition assistance, and flexible work arrangement!
