Scion Nonprofit Staffing (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com) has been engaged to conduct a search for a Development Associate for our client, a local nonprofit organization that strives to transform the lives of people in poverty. Onsite for one day and remote the other 4.

 

As the Development Associate, you will report to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and bring your enthusiasm, multi-tasking skills, and go-getter mentality to contribute to the success of the organization by overseeing fundraising activities and recording donations!  

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Enter and process all gifts into the donor management database, and create and mail acknowledgments in a timely fashion
  • Manage and update donor records, create lists and mail merges for emails and mailings, and generate weekly fundraising reports
  • Display a high level of proficiency with Raiser’s Edge by maintaining current updates and troubleshooting any issues
  • Update donations website page and the acknowledgment letter on a quarterly basis
  • Assist with drafting appeals and other donor communications, and send out mailings/emails
  • Periodically call and email individual donors to thank them for their support and update their information
  • Regularly search for new grant opportunities and assist with grant proposals as needed, compile and submit materials for smaller grants
  • Manage sponsorships for events, update sponsorship materials, create lists of prospects, and secure support of board members and corporate partners
  • Act as a liaison between Institutional Advancement and Finance departments, ensuring alignment between development and finance data on a monthly basis
  • Support the Vice President of Institutional Advancement by providing briefing materials on donors/prospects, logging meeting notes in Raiser’s Edge, and performing other administrative tasks as needed
  • Manage attendee sign in at events and provide additional support

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Development Associate experience
  • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge software
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • This position with our client requires employees to report to work at a physical location. Compensation & Additional Details:
  • Pay Rate: $27-$29 per hour  
  • Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with paid lunch
  • Location: Hybrid in Boston, MA; One day a week in office, 4 days remote
