RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and analyze the law on complex issues.
- Provide legal information and research on policyholder insurance recovery, complex business/commercial litigation, and business transactions.
- Write a brief for submission to a court, client, arbitrator, mediator, administrative or public entity or agency.
- Integrate legal research and analysis into a written memorandum or brief for submission.
- Draft letters, memorandum, agreements, and other written work product as required to communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel and other entities and legal professionals.
- Analyze, evaluate, and present recommended strategy to clients.
- Mitigate potential legal problems within the law firm or for a client and developing strategies to avoid costly litigation.
- Perform due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Appear in a court of law, arbitration, or other judicial tribunal on behalf of the Firm’s clients and presenting well-reasoned arguments to the judicial body.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 4 years of related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational and administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and follow through, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Experience with Commercial Litigation required.
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Oregon.
- Member of the OSB in good standing.
