02 Jan AANS Names Jason Leppin Incoming CDO
Scion Executive Search and Sydney Burnham are pleased to share that Jason Leppin has been selected as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons’ incoming Chief Development Officer! A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) with fifteen years of nonprofit and foundation fundraising experience, Jason is an established development professional eager to take the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation to new heights!
Jason is deeply mission-driven and uses his expertise and passion to grow nonprofits and corporations alike. He has built major gift programs from scratch and successfully builds relationships with donors, demonstrating the direct programmatic impact of their philanthropic dollars. When asked about his successes in building cases for philanthropic contributions in a competitive and finite space, Jason shared, “We build those connections and then start to look for synergies, identifying donor interests that align with some programming that we have or with our organization as a whole, and then we start to talk about the Foundation’s work, what a gift might mean, and the impact it could have.”
The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) advances the specialty of neurological surgery through education, research, advocacy, and outcomes science to promote the highest quality of patient care. Since its creation in 1980, the NREF has invested more than $30M in the improvement and advancement of neurosurgery with incredible success. For every NREF dollar invested in early-career neurosurgeons, $160 of total funding from broader sources is received to continue physician education and support studies that identify links between best practices and improved outcomes in patient care.
Sydney Burnham, Executive Search Principal, expertly led this search effort with Scion Executive Search on behalf of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
