Scion Nonprofit has been engaged to conduct a search for a passionate Assistant Development Director for a prestigious K-8 school in Oakland, California! This incredible career opportunity will work hands-on with a thriving team to create a meaningful and fulfilling impact in the East Bay community! This is a full-time, direct-hire position that is hybrid. In this role, you will work directly with the Director of Development.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Director of Development to grow the annual, major, and capital campaigns; legacy gifts; and planned giving.
  • Analyze and track donor giving patterns and develop improvements in the annual giving solicitation process.
  • Identify, research, and aid in the implementation of a diverse and multifaceted fundraising program.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and prepare fundraising-related communication materials.
  • Manage a portfolio of prospects through an active schedule of solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship calls to donors and new prospects.
  • Maintain a database of all contributors and provide development reports as required.
  • Foster volunteer participation and build strong relationships with volunteer leadership, monitor volunteer assignments, and provide follow-up coordination.
  • Nurture and maintain a highly collaborative relationship with the Director of Development and Head of School.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and working with volunteers, faculty, and staff.
  • Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising, including donor cultivation strategies.
  • Solid knowledge of maintaining donor management databases.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.
  • Mission-driven and passionate about education!

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
