Candidates may be in the San Francisco or Washington DC area. Qualified candidates in nearby metro areas to either city will be considered. This is a hybrid position for anyone in commuting distance to the San Francisco office, and if based in another city will otherwise be remote.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Deputy Managing Director, GCS, the Project Manager, GCS provides comprehensive administrative, project coordination, and overall support to the Global Climate Strategies (GCS) leadership team. This role is focused on optimizing a high functioning, well-organized, responsive, effective, and efficient GCS team. This role will be approximately 75% project management and 25% content support and does not have any managerial responsibilities.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project manage full time and part time GCS team members’ workstreams to efficiently build impactful donor products
  • Work with Managing Director, GCS directly to review and prioritize active workstreams
  • Support the Deputy Managing Director, GCS to manage staffing and updates the weekly content production processes
  • Coordinate GCS team member communications with the network of funders and advisers
  • Work with senior GCS team members to organize advisory meetings on big-picture climate strategy
  • Track climate solutions through diligence processes and assist with prioritization
  • Contribute to cross-team collaborations including content production, developing new systems and processes, and team planning
  • Support senior GCS team members through the diligence process with research, note taking, and synthesis writing
  • Collaborate with the Knowledge Manager to execute content management and build a robust, dynamic climate knowledge library
  • Staff internal learning sessions and external key climate events, circulating notes and take-aways
  • Fulfil other team and project support as needed


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Google systems (Drive and Sites) as well as Salesforce
  • Passion for environmental projects and experience working on climate related projects/initiatives such as climate and health, climate and development, climate science, in policy environments
  • Demonstrates ability to work individually, as part of a team, and with diverse communities
  • Ability to make decisions independently and work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, remain detail focused, and multi-task is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree, course work in business management or environmental policy preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience (in or with nonprofit, foundation, or other mission-focused organizations preferred) in a team, project, or program support role
  • Experience working in service to a broad range of clients and stakeholders preferred
  • Can think critically and take the initiative to accomplish work goals
  • Resourceful in providing creative solutions to work problems and opportunities
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment that is collaborative and growing


WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role may require working flexible hours, including nights and weekends and occasional travel (some international) may be required.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The salary range is $100-125k annualized based on experience and this is a full-time exempt position. Our client also offers a competitive benefits package. Benefits include full medical and dental covered at 90%, a flexible spending account, life insurance, up to $265/mo. commuter benefits paid by employer, 20 days of vacation time plus three days off between Dec. 25 and Dec. 31, 11 paid US Bank Holidays, paid sick days are unlimited *within reason,” retirement account with up to 9% salary deferral by employer, dependent care account, pet insurance, short term disability, family medical leave, and an employee assistance program.
